American Beauty (1999) - Kevin Spacey is, as always, brilliant, but in my opinion he almost takes shotgun to Annette Benning's portrayal of his psychotic wife. Terrific imagery, insight, and ability to make me feel uncomfortable and awed at the same time.
A Clockwork Orange (1971) - So much going on in the cinematography of this film it is literally impossible to take it all in over the course of one viewing. In the simplest terms, it's pretty "fucked up". If you watch for anything more than surface value though, it has enough depth to twist your yarbles... if you have any yarbles, you eunuch jellybell.
Blow (2001) - Epic drug film tracking the rise and fall of George Jung (Johnny Depp). Blow escapes the pitfalls of an overly formulaic high-low drug movie by its focus on Jung's relationships and psychological turmoil.
